Gary B. Nash is currently Professor of History Emeritus at the University
of California, Los Angeles, where he has taught for the last 42 years and
continues to direct the National Center for History in the Schools. One of
this nation’s preeminent social historians, his work focuses on race, class,
and power dynamics in American history. Dr. Nash is author of over a
dozen books and also a member of the American Philosophical Society.
Graham Russell Gao Hodges is George Dorland Langdon Jr. Professor of
History at Colgate University. In 2006-2007, he was Distinguished
Fulbright Professor of History at Peking University. Professor Hodges is
the author of numerous books and articles.
Synopsis: The book is a tale of three patriots, two revolutions, and a tragic
betrayal of freedom in the new nation.
